Who Are We?
Friends of Mahaska County Conservation is a non-profit organization created in 2011. We are run by a 10-12 member Board of Directors. This group meets the third Monday of each month at Russell Wildlife. Friends support conservation efforts in the Mahaska Community in a variety of ways.

*creating an appreciation of natural ecosystems in Mahaska Community through education
*establishing partnerships with other community organizations
*serving as an organizational base for conservation volunteers
*aiding in establishing native habitats on public and private land
*providing special opportunities for families and community to interact with nature.
*advocating for conservation efforts
*supporting the goals of the Mahaska County Conservation Board, which includes establishing a new environmental learning center at Caldwell Park
*raising funds to meet the goals of Friends of Mahaska County Conservation
*promoting nature through multi- media
